Brian Boyd Biography, Wikipedia- Man Who Allegedly Killed Actor Lisa Banes in NYC Is Arrested in Hit-and-Run Case

On 4th June 2021, the 65-year old American actress, Lisa Lou Banes was hit by a motorized scooter on her way to visit the Julliard School, her university on the Upper West Side (UWS) of Manhattan in New York City. It was a hit-and-run collision, that caused several severe injuries to the body as well as a traumatic brain injury to the actress. She was immediately taken to the Mount Sinai Morningside Hospital, where she was reported to be in a serious condition followed by an agonizing injury to the brain. The actress however could not make it out alive and passed away on 14th July 2021 at the age of 65.
As per the initial reports, Banes was hit by a motor-powered scooter that was reported to be ridden by a 26-year old boy named, “Brain Boyd”. According to the news release of the New York City Police Department, Boyd was accused of escaping from the incident scene where the deadly accident took place and abandoning to submit to a walker at an intersection. Boyd, who is from the neighborhood of Upper West Sider and lived in the same place where the fatal crash happened and was arrested by officers who identified him from a wanted poster.
The NY police revealed that the accused has a residence on Amersterdam Avenue, the exact place where the Cocktail actress died. Though not much is know about Boyd, it was reported that he did not have a lawyer who could talk on his behalf. When the passing of news of Banes broke out, many celebrities including the true and genuine admirers of her came forward and grieved over her death.
What’s more, people took over their Twitter handles and condemned Boyd. After the accident of Banes, her wife Kranhold urged people to pray for Lisa and requested to provide any information about the motor scooter driver. Despite all the prayers, Banes could not make it out and left the world forever. Those who were blessed to had her in their lives, felt heartsick over the shocking and senseless death of Lisa Banes.
Banes who was recognized for her role as Bonnie in the American film, “Cocktail” had worked in more than 80 television as well as film roles and started her career as an actress by participating in Broadway. Later she appeared in numerous television series including “The Trials of Rosie O’Neill”, “Son of the Beach”, “Kane & Able” and others. The passing of the Theatre World Award winner devastated everyone, but she will always be remembered for her high enthusiasm, compassion, benevolence and for her commitment to her work. May her soul rest in peace.
