Donna was 37 years old when she was murdered.

Donna was living in Lancaster with her 64-year-old adoptive mom, Dalpha Lorene Jester was blind and bed-ridden.

Another homeless woman named Laura Lee Owens was also living with the Jesters. She was 20 years old at the time of the incident.

We can assume that Donna was of a pure heart. She helped people as much as she could without thinking ill of them.

David confessed to the court that the Jester household has some strange smell to it. He also thought that there were dead bodies behind the house.

Long took hold of the hatchet in anger because he thought the women were conspiring against his and Owens’s relationship.

According to the investigation report, all three women of the house were killed with a knife and hatchet. The dead bodies were found only after two days of the murder.

David initially pleaded not guilty under the grounds of insanity. His attorney helped him build defense including schizophrenia and reported head injury.

Long also gave the witness that some of his actions were because of his possession by Satan. The psychiatrist believed he was hallucinating due to alcohol withdrawal.

A murder warrant was issued against David Martin Long in 1986. He was charged with the first-degree murder of three women in the house he was living in.

Here is the dateline that leads to the murder of three innocent women.

On 19th September 1986, David was expelled from the Alcohol Rehabilitation Program of Little Rock and started hitchhiking. Donna gave him a ride in her car and allowed him to stay at her home in Lancaster, Texas.

David started living in the house in exchange for the repairing works. He eventually developed a romantic relationship with Laura during his stay.

On 27th September, Long killed Donna and Dalpha first. When Owens came home to discover the crime scene she tried to flee but alas she was also fell victim to murder.

After committing the crime, David was arrested for drunk driving in Leon City. Police discovered the dead bodies the same day he was released.

David was on trial in 1987. He was convicted of murder on 7th February 1987.
