Did Amal quit smoking? Why did Amal change her name?

Amal Alamuddin reportedly quit cigarettes after she started dating George Clooney because he is “a big non-smoker.  Amal Clooney changed her name because she wants to share a name with her husband.

Amal Alamuddin changed her maiden name to my middle name and took her husband’s last name when they wed. She says she writes professionally under both names and that it seemed like a nice compromise between tradition and feminism.

Amal Clooney was also been appointed to the Human Dignity Trust Bar Panel. Clooney is the co-founder and co-president of the Clooney Foundation for Justice. She co-founded the foundation with her husband George Clooney in 2016.

Amal Clooney is qualified to practice law in the United States, England, and Wales. Clooney previously represented Wa Lone and Kyaw Soe Oo, two Reuters journalists from Myanmar.

Amal Clooney is representing a group of Iraqi victims from the Yazidi community seeking accountability for genocide and other crimes perpetrated by ISIS, including Nobel Peace Prize Laurette, Nadia Murad.
