The writer is the only daughter in her family and doesn’t have any twin sisters. She has three elder brothers above her but does not have any sisters. This is why it is safe to say that the former actress doesn’t have a twin sister.

She was born on June 26, 1992, in Los Angeles, California to her loving parents Mark McCurdy (her father) and Debra McCurdy (her mother). She later grew up in Garden Grove, California along with her three brothers. As per the former actress, her family was dysfunctional Mormon.

Her mother was diagnosed with breast cancer in 1996 when the director was just three years old. Though the cancer was treated at that time, it re-occurred again in 2010 and took the life of her mother in 2021 when the former actress was just 21 years old.

According to the actress turned director, she was abused both sexually and emotionally by her mother. Further, she was forced into acting by her mother when she was just 6 years old. According to her, she was the sole breadwinner of the family.

Further, she also lost her teeth due to the regurgitating stomach fluid that ruined the enamel of her teeth. The former actress also passed out due to dehydration in the bathroom of Miranda Cosgrove, an American singer, and actress.

Besides, she is also recovering from alcoholism after she began to drink heavily just before the demise of her mother. She also mentioned in her podcast in 2020 that she has struggled with obsessive-compulsive disorder.

However, the former actress is slowly recovering from her health issues. Also, she has slowly adapted to her illness which cannot be totally cured. She also has made changes in her diet in order to cope with her health issues.
