Dominic David Fike was born in Naples, Florida on December 30, 1995.

Fike originally rose to prominence by producing beats with his then-producer, Hunter Pfeiffer (aka 54), which led to the publication of numerous successful SoundCloud tracks.

At the age of 22, he released the EP Don’t Forget About Me, Demos as a signed artist in October 2018, which was recorded while he was on house arrest for violence against a police officer.

He was eventually taken to the Collier County Prison for breaching his home arrest. The EP piqued the interest of numerous record labels, resulting in a bidding war.

Around this period, all of Fike’s previously released independent music was pulled from streaming services.

He signed with Columbia for a reported $4 million in August after being released in April 2018.
