Edward Faulkner Actor

During his years in college, Edward did some stage magic and some acting as a teen. Edward decided to try professional acting, after a stint in the U.S. Air Force in the year 1958. He was lucky enough to form a friendship with Andrew V. McLaglen, who was the director son of Vicor McLaglen.

He had some small supporting roles in Have Gun – Will Travel and other series during the early 1960s. Alongside John Wayne vehicle McLintock!, Edward s entered featured films in 1963, which were directed by McLaglen.

He played a prominent supporting role as the rival/antagonist to Patrick Wayne’s young hero. His muscular build and intense eyes made him a good “friendly enemy” in that picture, and he would often play middle-level authority figures as well as opponents to the hero in subsequent screen work.

Faulkner’s other John Wayne-film credits include The Green Berets, Hellfighters, The Undefeated, Rio Lobo, and Chisum. Prior to his work in Westerns, Edward has appeared in several films which include: How To Murder Your Wife and the Elvis Presley vehicles Tickle Me and Sergeant Deadhead (all 1965).
