Hywel Griffiths is a Welsh television news correspondent who is currently working with the BBC Wales. 

He graduated from Cardigan High School in 1996. He then went on to graduate from the University of Bristol with a bachelors’ degree in history in 1999. After that in 2000, he completed his master’s in medieval history from Queens Colledge, Cambridge.

Apparently, Hywel joined BBC in September 2000 as a news trainee and has been working for more than 20 years. At BBC, he has formerly worked as a broadcast journalist, senior broadcast journalist, Wales health correspondent, Wales correspondent, and Sydney correspondent.

In his career, he has reported a lot of incidents including the UK General Election in 2015, Scotland Decides in 2014, and The Big Freeze in 2010. Further, he has also been part of BBC’s programs such as Breakfast in 2018 and One O’Clock News in 2008.

The face condition and skin problem that Hywel Griffiths has been suffering seem to be Vitiligo, a long-term condition where pale white patches develop on the skin.

Although nothing has been made official, he does tweet that he is suffering from Vitiligo. Apparently, he has mentioned the skin condition on Twitter as he replies to some of his followers. Further, the discussion on Vitiligo seems to have been there since 2016.

It is unknown whether Hywel Griffiths is suffering from cancer or not.

Apparently, studies do prove that people suffering from Vitiligo can get skin cancer. However, he hasn’t mentioned any information on cancer to the public.

And judging from his take on Vitiligo, the topic of cancer seems to be nothing but mere speculation of his fans.
