Emoni Rivers Boyd Shot 16 Times – Girl Who Slapped Mom For Clout

Emoni Rivers Boyd, who slapped her mom for clout, was tragically shot 16 times in an incident that occurred at the Newport Terrace Apartments on Bennett Court. She was killed inside of a New Castle County apartment.

Neighbor Charles Hindsley, who lives in a building adjacent to where Rivers-Boyd was shot, with his two kids, told Delaware Online/The News Journal in February that the group bolted out of the building and fled after the gunshot.

Emoni’s body was discovered dead shortly before 10 p.m. at the Newport Terrace Apartments, off West Justis Street in Newport, after responding to a 911 call regarding a shooting at an apartment.

Emoni Rivers Boyd, a fifteen-year-old girl from Wilmington, was shot and murdered in the unit block of Bennett Court around 9:55 p.m. on Saturday, February 15, 2020, according to Delaware State Police.

Emoni was a caring sister, according to her brother, and he will miss her every day. However, neighbors said that when the gun was shot, they heard loud music coming from the first-floor flat. Emoni didn’t live in the apartment, according to neighbors, and was only there for the party.

On weekends, the group, according to neighbor Hindsley, partied hard. He discovered shattered bottles on the sidewalk in front of his building the morning before the shooting.

Who Shot Emoni Rivers Boyd?

Angelise Merced of Elsmere was charged with criminal manslaughter, possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, and possession of a firearm by a person barred on the death of Emoni Rivers-Boyd on Feb 15.

Merced was held at the New Castle Detention Center on a $130,000 cash bond. No further information has yet been disclosed.
