World number 1 tennis player, Iga Swiatek, was born on May 31, 2001, in Warsaw, Poland. She is 21 years old.

Iga’s giant strides in the tennis world court began in 2019 when she began playing on the WTA Tour.

At age 18, she was able to enter the list of top 50, following her maiden WTA final.

She reached her career high in April 2022, when she ranked world number 1.

Iga has the title of “the first ever Polish player to be ranked world number 1, both in men and women tennis.

So far, Iga has won $8,929,786 prize money.

Iga is known for her philanthropic efforts outside the tennis courts. In 2021, she donated $50,000 of her prize money to support the World Mental Health Day.

“I would say in sports, for me, it was always important to use that kind of help because I always thought that in my mental toughness there is some strength that I can use on court and I can also develop in that manner,” she said.

She admitted that her sports psychologist, Daria Abramowicz, had been of immense help in her career so far.

“It’s just good to stay open-minded. If you need that kind of help, then go for it. If you’re up to it and if you’re open-minded, I think it helps a lot,” Świątek added.
