Imtiaz Ali was born in Jamshedpur and raised in Patna. His dad Mansoor Ali worked for the Irrigation office. During his tutoring days he remained at his Aunt’s place in Jamshedpur. Close to the spot there was a film lobby where he used to watch films for nothing.
He was bad at studies and flopped in ninth norm however he didn’t surrender studies and went for common studies in Delhi. However, while finishing his studies he created interest for show and took up the filmmaking course. Imtiaz Ali was then employed by Kunal Kohli at Zee TV with a compensation of 1500 rupees.
