He alerted her that he and fellow passengers Mark Bingham, Jeremy Glick and Todd Beamer were planning to take the plane back from the hijackers.

When Tom realized that the terrorist was about to crash their plane on the White House, they stormed the cockpit and turned the aircraft to Pennsylvania field, killing all 44 people on board. He was only 38 years old.
