The second season of the HBO documentary series, The Vow, has shed light on the trial and imprisonment of Keith Raniere, the leader of NXIVM and DOS. While Raniere has been convicted and sentenced to 120 years in prison, there are still questions about the loyalty of some of his former followers, including Nicki Clyne.

Clyne, a Canadian actress and former member of NXIVM, has remained a staunch supporter of Raniere since his indictment in 2018. She believes that the allegations against him and the portrayal of DOS have been misconstrued. According to Clyne, DOS aimed to teach women accountability and help them build strength and self-reliance. She argues that the narrative surrounding Raniere and DOS was crafted to focus on triggering concepts, while disregarding other explanations.

Clyne has also made claims of FBI tampering in Raniere’s case. She asserts that forensic experts, including former FBI examiners, have independently concluded that evidence of child pornography was falsified and planted. Raniere’s legal team has filed a motion based on these forensic reports, but the district court has yet to rule on them.

Despite her unwavering support for Raniere, Clyne has faced her own challenges. She alleges ongoing retaliation from the government, including being prohibited from communicating with Raniere. Clyne claims that these measures are intended to isolate Raniere and prevent him from receiving support.

Raniere himself remains incarcerated at the United States Penitentiary in Tucson, a facility designed for sex offenders at a maximum-security level. He has faced various issues during his imprisonment, including alleged attacks by fellow inmates and restrictions on communication with his supporters and attorneys.

In November 2022, Raniere expressed concerns about his safety if he were to be transferred to another facility. His attorneys have filed a motion for a temporary restraining order to block the transfer, citing fears of potential harm.

As the legal proceedings and appeals continue, the loyalty of individuals like Nicki Clyne to Keith Raniere remains a topic of interest. While Raniere serves his sentence, his followers and the public await further developments in his case.
