Malik Monk, a shooting guard for the Charlotte Hornets who previously played college basketball for the Kentucky Wildcats, is a star in college basketball. His mother, Jacaynlene Monk, is proud of her son and loves him dearly.
After a strong freshman year at Kentucky under coach John Calipari, Jacaynlene’s son declared for the NBA draft in April 2017. He was chosen by the Hornets in the first round of the 2017 NBA Draft (11th overall).
Malik was placed on an indefinite suspension by the Charlotte Hornets on February 26, 2020, as a result of him breaking the NBA’s substance use policy.
