In a surveillance camera, he was captured leaving his house in his car, which was in itself unusual for his family since he didn’t use to go anywhere without informing.

Now around a month later, Jelani Day has been confirmed dead after his body was found in the Illinois river on September 4 this month as confirmed by NBC Chicago.

Just a couple of days before, his mother Carmen had asked for more urgency and help in finding him.

And soon after it was prioritized, the forensic tests confirmed the found body being of Jelani.

Following the tragic news, his family were completely devastated and are now along with the public, raising voice to find out what happened to Jelani Day.

Jelani Day Death Cause: How Did He Die?

Unfortunately, the actual death cause of Jelani Day is still under investigation but it hints towards possibly being a murder.

Just after two days after his missing, the investigators found his car in the deeps woods.

Similarly, after around a week or so, Jelani’s body was found in the Illinois river in an unrecognizable condition as per CBS News.

As the body was not identified, it was sent for forensic tests and the doctors had said that it would around a month or so to complete all the tests and confirm the body.

In the meantime, the DNA tests were also done to reach the conclusion.

Now, after 20 days of his body being found, the forensic tests have come out confirming the body actually being of Jelani Day.

It was confirmed after going through forensic dental identification and DNA tests.

However, the actual death cause of Day is still undisclosed to the media and further investigations are thought to be carried on.

Jelani Day was a University student who had just graduated from Illinois State University.

Furthermore, it also looks like Carmen was raising Jelani as a single parent.

The 25-year-old missing ISU graduate, Jelani Day’s body has been confirmed after it was found on September 4 from the river.

The investigator found the body earlier this month but it was in unrecognizable condition.

So, after around 20 days and several tests, the forensic team have confirmed the body to be of Jelani Day.

With that, Jelani is dead and any further investigation on what actually happened is still in process.
