Jimmy Jam net worth: Jimmy Jam is an American songwriter and producer who has a net worth of $50 million dollars. Jimmy Jam, also known as James Samuel Harris III, was born in Minneapolis, Minnesota. He is the son of Cornbread Harris, a Minneapolis blues and jazz musician. After meeting Terry Lewis at an Upward Bound program on the University of Minnesota campus, the pair founded the band, Flyte Time. They later changed their name to The Time, and went on to open for Prince. Their songwriting skills caught the attention of Clarence Avant, and they wrote multiple tracks for the SOS Band, while also releasing albums with The Time. They went on to produce successful albums for a range of artists, including the Janet Jackson albums, “Control” and “Rhythm Nation 1814”. Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis then launched their own record label, Perspective Records. They went on to produce tracks for Michael Jackson, Boyz II Men, Mariah Carey, Prince, Spice Girls, Rod Stewart, Gwen Stefani, and Pia Zadora, among many other artists. Currently Jimmy Jam runs the studio Flyte Time West with Jerry Lewis, and continues to perform.
