Jose Antonio Iglesias Aleman (José Antonio Iglesias Aleman) is a Cuban baseball player who played for the Detroit Tigers in Major League Baseball. Born January 5, 1990 in Havana, Cuba, the son of Candelario Iglesias, he also plays for the Boston Red Sox. Candelario is his father, a coach who began his education at the age of six.
Iglesias signed an international amateur agency deal with the Boston Red Sox in September 2009. He lost to the Cuban youth team to bowler Noel Aguiz during his time in Canada. He is the only Red Sox spectator in MLB.com’s Top 50 audience list and ranks 42nd on the list. In March 2011, he was selected by Triple-A Pawtucket Red Sox and included in the Red Sox List.
