Ken Dashow is a writer, actor, and director who lives in Los Angeles. He works as a disc jockey at the classic rock radio station WAXQ “Q104.3” in New York City, and he also voicetracks for the Classic Rock WBGG-FM “Big 105.9” in Miami and the Classic Rock WEGR – Rock 103, 102.7 FM in Memphis. He was born and raised in Brooklyn and has spent the past 30 years working in New York radio. He has written numerous plays, including “Dashow Must Go On,” which was published by Dramatists Play Service and “Rock is Dead,” which was performed off-Broadway at the Soho Playhouse. He has also authored a collection of short stories, “Dashow Must Go On.” His scripts for the films “The Naked Detective” and “Desire” have become cult masterpieces in their own right. Ken Dashow is the son of Irving Dashow, who is a retailer in the clothing business, and Adele Dashow, who is a prominent member of the Brooklyn civic society.
As President of PS 206 (during the 1960s New York City Public Schools strike), she also served as President of the Sheepshead Bay Civic and Community Council, and as a Vice President of Community Planning Board 15. She was also a member of the New York City Council and a member of the New York State Senate. Her civic work in Brooklyn spanned more than three decades.
