Marcus Sasser Got His Basketball Genes From Dad Marcus Sr

Marcus Sasser dad Marcus Sasser Sr was a basketball player at Frank Phillips College. Marcus is an NCAA player following his father footsteps.

Sasser attributes his 3-point shooting ability to his father and uncles. He spent much time in the backyard playing basketball with his family.

The American basketball player appreciates his parents for helping him reach his goals as an athlete. Monique Sasser, his mother, has also equally been assisting him.

Sasser plays basketball in the American Athletic Conference collegiate basketball (AAC) for the Houston Cougars. He played basketball for Red Oak High School in Red Oak, Texas, under the supervision of his uncle, Jason.

As a senior, he was selected as Class 5A All-State and District 14-5A Most Valuable Player. Marcus turned down invitations to play college basketball for Colorado State, SMU, and UTEP in favor of Houston.

Marcus Sasser followed his father Marcus Sr when it comes to basketball. Marcus Sasser Sr. was a basketball player at Frank Phillips College. 

Sasser was born to his parents, Monique Sasser and Marcus Sr Sasser, on September 21, 2000, in Dallas, Texas. The teen basketball player has made them proud of his early success.

His parents are from the gorgeous and crowded metropolitan Dallas, Texas, United States. 

Likewise, Sasser’s father isn’t the only one who does sports. His uncles Jason and Jeryl were also active in basketball. His parents did a good job setting a legacy; now, he is just trying to follow them.

Marcus also has two brothers named James and Marquis Sasser, who are equally into athletics.

Marcus Sasser Followed His Grandparents’ Legacy.

Marcus Sasser, a well-known basketball player in America, continued the basketball trend started by his family. The Sassers’ specialty is basketball.

Marcus credits his success to his parents for fostering a good attitude in him. When your last name is Sasser, basketball is a family affair. Sports have been a passion for every male in the Sasser family over the previous three generations.

Jeryl Sasser Sr., his grandfather, played basketball at North Texas State in the early 1970s. Jason, his uncle, was an All-American football player for Texas Tech and the Southwest Conference Player of the Year, reports UH Cougars.

Jeryl Jr., another uncle, was an All-American football player for SMU and the Western Athletic Conference Player of the Year. Marcus Sr., his father, was an athlete at Frank Phillips College.

And lastly, Marcus, a freshman guard for the University of Houston, is next in the family line. Marcus’ journey from the Red Oak Wall of Fame to college basketball’s largest stage is a testament to how basketball runs in his veins.
