Sennet joined the KMSS News team in February 2015. Before moving to Shreveport, Marquel was the weekend anchor at the Fox affiliate in her hometown of Beaumont, Texas. At these stations, Marquel covered the Deep Water Horizon Oil Spill for television stations in our region and provided live coverage statewide for the 2015 Louisiana Gubernatorial Primary Election.

She has interviewed President George H.W. Bush while reporting on the recovery along the Gulf Coast after Hurricane Ike. Some of her most memorable interviews were with NBA champion Shaquille O’Neal and Academy Award nominee Spike Lee. Marquel first realized her passion for news while in her high school’s video broadcasting class.

Upon graduation, she was awarded a full academic scholarship to Jarvis Christian College. She was initiated into the Zeta Chi Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. in 2005 and was selected to participate in the sorority’s prestigious Leadership Fellows Program in 2007.
