What happened to Nick Pivetta?

Nick Pivetta was regarded as the most disappointing player in the 2019 season based on expectations following his prior performance. According to Brooks Baseball, Pivetta increased the percentage he used his curveball from about 22% of the time to about 35% of the time.

However, Nick Pivetta seemingly lost the ability to get out with his curve. Consequently,  hitters improved against the curveball, simultaneously swinging and missing less,
while also doing more damage against the pitch. Nick Pivetta had also struggled with throwing it in spots that were beneficial to him.
