Fans were outraged when the body of late rapper Goonew was reportedly propped up on stage during a funeral event at a nightclub.

Goonew, whose actual name was Markelle Morrow, was shot and killed in Maryland on March 18th, when she was 24 years old. The fatal shooting is being investigated by police, but no suspects are thought to be in jail.

On Sunday, a celebration of Goonew’s life and career was held at Bliss Nightclub in Washington, DC, dubbed “The Final Show.”

Some people argued that it was disturbing to his fans while others stated that it appeared to be what his family want, and some even speculated that it might be a wax figure.

In the wake of the backlash, the owners of Bliss nightclub have issued an apology, claiming they were ignorant of the plans to put Goonew’s corpse on stage.

Videos posted to social media show the late rapper’s allegedly embalmed body standing on stage while a packed club danced and rapped to his music.

Close family and friends also danced on stage near his body, which was clothed in an Amiri pullover, pants, trainers, and a crown on his head and was blocked off by a velvet rope.

Multi-colored strobe lights flitted throughout the room, and fireworks were set off near the claimed corpse as if it were a typical club night.

Fans of Rapper GooNews were devasted by the show of his dead body at the DC Nightclub funeral of the rapper.

Tickets were on sale through Eventbrite, although there is no indication of plans to expose his body at the club.

‘No this ain’t no-wax figure, my Brodie went out Gansta,’ said rapper Black Fortune, who also performed. This indicated that GooNews was dead.

‘A nearby funeral home contacted the nightclub about renting out their location for Goonew’s farewell celebration. The nightclub was completely unaware of what was about to happen.
