Real Madrid face anxious wait after Benzema suffers knee injury

Madrid, Sep 7 (IANS) Real Madrid faces a restless stand by over the wellness of striker Karim Benzema after he had to limp out of their Champions League win away to Glasgow Celtic with a knee injury on Tuesday.
The striker, who had scored 44 objectives in all contests last season and was the top scorer in last season’s Champions League, slammed into one of the Celtic players and couldn’t continue, reports Xinhua.
Talking after the match, Real Madrid mentor Carlo Ancelotti said he was hopeful about Benzema and Eder Militao, who was likewise constrained off with a thump.
“After a first assessment, it doesn’t appear to be serious. However, we should hold on until they go through tests. The two of them might have issues,” said Ancelotti.
