Christine Oliveaux is a victim of domestic violence perpetrated by her ex-husband, Shane Langley. Shane murdered her mother after Christine left him after years of being assaulted by him.
Christine married Langley when she was a teenager, and the couple had four children. She later described how Langley’s abusive behavior began immediately.
Christine eventually mustered the courage to flee his clutches with their children, taking them all to her mother’s house. In the episode of ‘Obsession: Dark Desires’ titled ‘Married to the Devil,’ Investigation Discovery unfolds the terrifying chapters of this tragic story.
Shane Langley And Christine Oliveaux Abusive Relationship
Christine Oliveaux started dating her schoolmate Shane Langley in 1984. The couple went to get married in 1995 and welcomed three children.
After their marriage, Shane started getting abusive toward Christine. Shane’s abusive behavior toward Christine had become more than apparent by 1998.
There were several incidents of Shane physically, emotionally, and sexually assaulting Christine. She was frequently beaten up over the smallest thing possible around the house.
Shane forced her to isolate herself and had no contact with her friends. In addition, her mother, Vennie, too was able to meet her when he allowed.
Though she later managed to move out of the couple’s house with their kids, he called her and threatened her. Shane then showed up at Vennie’s house with a gun and shot Christine at least twice as she tried to flee.

Where Is Shane Langley Now?
Shane Langley is currently incarcerated in the Louisiana Department of Corrections. He was serving his time in prison at Elayn Hunt Correctional Center in St. Gabriel, Louisiana, as of January 2021, according to prison records.
After killing her mother, he kidnapped and held her children as hostages during a stand-off with the police.
He found out about the safe house where Christine and the kids were staying and called to let Christine know he knew she was there.
Shane was found guilty of second-degree murder after being arrested for Vennie’s murder and sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole.
Christine testified to the state House Judiciary Committee in 2003 in support of a proposed domestic violence bill. In addition, Shane had given her black eyes, cut lips, broken teeth, and broken ribs for a significant portion of their 14-year relationship.
