Her parents Derrick and Jodi Jenkins also had two children; a biological sister of Shayanna, Shanea Jenkins and a half-sister, Ontavia Samuel. Her estranged father left her when she was a teenager.

The impeccable lady found love at an early age. Her love tango with Aaron began when she was in elementary school. The two are said to have lived close together and seen each other often. Meanwhile, Aaron’s father was well respected in Connecticut because he worked as a jailer.

As troubles continued in her love life, on June 18, 2013, police searched Aaron Hernandez’s home as he was suspected of killing his boyfriend, Odin Llyod. Odin died from multiple gunshots to his back and chest.
The footballer was the prime suspect as police found he had been hiring house cleaners on the same day Odin’s body was found and a smashed cell phone was found in his custody. Meanwhile, the soccer player denied anything connecting him to his friend’s murder.
He subsequently lost his place with his team and was taken into custody after being charged with first-degree murder. On September 27, 2013, while two other men joined him as accomplices, Shayanna Jenkins was charged with perjury in connection with the murder.
Aaron Hernandez was subsequently found guilty and was sentenced to life imprisonment. On April 19, 2017, the soccer player took his own life, going back on the promises he made to his partner, daughter and mother, with whom he reconciled in prison.
