Thundercat Biography
Bruner was exposed to music at a young age and developed his abilities while attending Locke High School, where he participated in the jazz band. Here, he had the chance to collaborate with his music instructor Reggie Andrews, a well-known producer, and co-writer.
He later met Kamasi Washington again; their fathers had been in a gospel fusion band together when they first met as kids. They would travel about in an old Ford Mustang and snoop into jazz performances before getting the chance to perform at the same venues as the artists they had been admiring.
