Tony established the Evangelical Association for Education Promotion, which works to assist “at-risk” youth in the U.S. and Canada, and has helped create a number of colleges and universities. Campolo has a coherent ethical stand against any human situation that contributes to the end of life, including warfare, poverty and starvation, the death penalty, and euthanasia. Despite his criticism of the politically conservative evangelical community, he also criticized the more liberal Christian mainline denominations as “they fail to emphasize a personal, transforming connection with Jesus Christ.”

He announced his plans on January 14, 2014, to withdraw from guiding the EAPE and close the ministry. The additional cash in the ministry will be allocated to EAPE-started offshoot ministries, but he plans to continue writing and talking.
