Stefanie R. Risher, a 21-year-old Midvale resident who was dating Caden Mcguire, passed away as a result of injuries she sustained in an accident on Township Road 429.

The Summit County medical examiner declared Stefanie dead at Akron General Hospital at 9:20 a.m. on May 20, 2019. At 12:20 am on the morning of, the Ohio State Highway Patrol responded to an ATV accident on Township Road 429.

According to Sergeant Bowers of the Ohio State Highway Patrol’s New Philadelphia Post, the victims had convened at a house for a party.

They made the decision to get into the Razor and go for a ride, and as they left the house and were driving west on Hilltop Drive, the driver lost control, ran off the road to the left, and into a tree.

Even though there was only room for two, there were four individuals inside the ATV when it crashed. She was sitting in the passenger seat with Austin Zinkon at the wheel. There were two other individuals in the car.

Micah Busby, age 18, was transported by air ambulance to a hospital in Akron and survived the collision, and Emily Ditto, age 20, was transported by Strasburg EMS to Cleveland Clinic Union Hospital and was released the following day.

Caden Mcguire’s girlfriend, Stefanie Risher, died after sustaining a fatal injury to her head. She was declared dead after numerous tests revealed no signs of brain activity.

The 21-year-old was not wearing a seatbelt and was sitting in the passenger seat. The Tuscarawas County Coroner’s Office declared the car’s driver, Austin Zinkon, 24, of Sugarcreek, dead at the scene.

Zinkon was driving a 2017 Polaris RZR when it veered off the left side of Township Road 429 and collided with a tree while traveling west.

Alcohol was reportedly consumed before the collision, and liquor was discovered on the ATV at the incident site.
