He started his journey with the network back in 2008. Before that, the sports anchor worked as a sports anchor at KRCR-ABC 7. The reason for him leaving the network is that Joe wants to try something new. 

WFTV Channel 9 is an ABC-affiliated television station in Orlando, Florida, United States. It is owned by Cox Media Group, which also owns independent station WRDQ (channel 27). WFTV’s transmitter is located near Christmas, Florida, and both stations share studios on East South Street (SR 15) in downtown Orlando.

Former WFTV Channel 9 sports anchor Joe Kepner announced that he would leave the network on the 7th of July. He also mentioned that he would be joining the team at Walt Disney World’s ESPN Wide World of Sports.

On his Facebook post, the anchor wrote, ‘It’s time for a change! After 14 years at WFTV Channel 9, I’ve chosen to pursue a less sports-centric career.’

The anchor also thanked everyone who has helped him along the way. He also seems to be leaving Florida. He said he was thankful for the people he met in Florida.

After spending more than a decade with the network, Joe was emotional while announcing his leaving. He said that his time with WFTV was his finest experience and that he had a great time with the station.
