Charlie Weis Jr. was born on April 29, 1993, in South Bend, Indiana. He is the son of former New England Patriots offensive coordinator and college football coach Charlie Weis.

Charles Weis Jr. began coaching at the age of 18. He started working as an offensive quality control coach at Florida under his father, who was then the offensive coordinator.

Charles Weis Jr. joined his father at the University of Kansas after he was named the head coach. Charles  Weis Jr. joined the staff as an undergraduate team manager and he earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from Kansas during his stay there.
