Matthew Berry a fantasy sports analyst, and tv personality is leaving ESPN.

53 years old Matthew Berry is a famous fantasy sports analyst working for ESPN. Berry is one of the best Sports analysts who has worked in ESPN for almost 15 years. At the beginning of his career, Berry collaborated with his writing partner Eric Abrams on a few pilots and film screenplays for television and movies.

Berry was born in Denver Colorado in 1969. His father Leonard Berry is a professor at Texas A&M University. Berry’s mother Nancy is a former mayor of the city. The Sports analyst graduated from Syracuse University with a degree in Electronic Media

Matthew is the lead fantasy sports analyst at ESPN and now has decided to end his career at ESPN. Matthew’s analysis is one of the most trusted and his shows are best rated by fantasy sports lovers.  

After Matthews’s decision, there is serious debate at ESPN about who will fulfill the role of this great analyst.

Why Is Matthew Berry Leaving ESPN?

Matthew on July 12th shared his letter of resignation on his Twitter handle, saying after these wonderful 15 years at ESPN finally Berry has decided to end this journey.

Berry also added when he joined ESPN in 2007, fantasy sport was niche and ESPN was behind other players now in  2022 things have changed and ESPN has become one of the leaders in this space.

The sports analyst also used this moment to thank his team for helping him throughout this incredible journey at ESPN and thanked all his fans too.  Matthew concluded his statement by saying he will be indebted to ESPN for everything.

ESPN told that they support Matthew’s desire to leave ESPN and search for other opportunities. They also added how talented and dedicated Berry is and they wished him luck for the coming future.

There were rumors about the TV host leaving ESPN for money but many experts including James Andrew Miller ( Investigative journalist and a former Washington Post reporter) believe it is not about money instead it might be for a change.

Andrew also went ahead and added, that ESPN tried hard to keep Matthew with them as the sports analyst was one of the reasons why ESPN got so much popularity. So reasons for Matthew’s decision of leaving ESPN remain unknown.

There are many rumors of Matthew joining media agencies, but Matthew joining NBC is getting the most hype. 

Berry in his tweet said “I’m really excited about the future but there will be plenty of time to talk about that before the season. For now, I just want to take some time to reflect and celebrate an incredible 15 years. Thanks for the support. I love you all”.

So it seems the fantasy guru is exploring his option right now and taking some time off for himself and his family.
